ABOUT ERASMUS+
What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is a program run by the European Union that supports cooperation in the fields of education, youth, and sport. It aims to enhance individuals’ knowledge and skills, strengthen the capacity of organizations, and foster sustainable partnerships between different countries.
Erasmus+ is not only a student exchange program. It also covers a wide range of projects and activities in areas such as youth work, adult education, vocational education and training, social inclusion, active citizenship, and support for disadvantaged groups.
The Main Objectives of Erasmus+
The Erasmus+ programme aims to support individuals’ personal, social, and professional development, while also encouraging cooperation between institutions and the dissemination of innovative practices. Its core objectives include improving the quality of education, strengthening social participation, and promoting shared values at the European level.
In particular, creating inclusive, accessible, and safe learning environments for young people and disadvantaged groups is among Erasmus+’s key priorities.
Erasmus+ Youth Projects
The Erasmus+ Youth field supports projects that aim to enhance young people’s active participation, social skills, and social awareness. These projects bring together youth workers, civil society organizations, and local stakeholders, enabling the implementation of innovative and effective initiatives for young people.
Within the scope of youth projects, activities such as:
training and awareness-raising actions,
workshops,
sharing of good practices,
international mobility activities
can be carried out.
Erasmus+ and Social Inclusion
The Erasmus+ programme is particularly important for individuals and groups at risk of social exclusion. Projects carried out in areas such as combating addiction, psychosocial support, family involvement, and social cohesion directly align with Erasmus+ principles of inclusion and equality.
In this context, Erasmus+ encourages not only the transfer of knowledge, but also initiatives that empower individuals, strengthen their participation in social life, and support long-term recovery processes.
The Role of Erasmus+ in This Project
This project has been implemented in line with the Erasmus+ programme’s objectives in youth, social inclusion, and capacity building. The trainings, workshops, and international collaborations carried out within the project aim to strengthen individuals’ and families’ access to accurate information, enhance psychosocial support mechanisms, and promote the dissemination of good practices.
Erasmus+ support contributes to the project being implemented in a planned, transparent, and sustainable manner, while also enabling local experiences to be shared and reinforced at the European level.

Why is this project supported under Erasmus+?
This project is supported because it directly aligns with the Erasmus+ programme’s priorities in youth, social inclusion, and capacity building. Erasmus+ promotes not only educational activities, but also projects that generate solutions to societal challenges, empower disadvantaged groups, and create sustainable impact.
The project focuses on substance addiction—an issue with both individual and broader social consequences—and addresses it not solely through a treatment lens, but through a preventive, supportive, and reintegration-oriented approach that strengthens social cohesion. This holistic perspective is consistent with Erasmus+ core values, which are rooted in human dignity, equality, and inclusion.
Alignment with a Priority on Social Inclusion and Equal Participation
The Erasmus+ programme considers supporting individuals at risk of social exclusion and strengthening their active participation in social life as a key priority. This project directly contributes to the goal of social inclusion by creating safe learning and support spaces for individuals and families affected by the addiction process.
The training materials and workshops developed within the project help individuals express themselves again, improve their life skills, and participate in society in a stronger and more confident way.

Youth Studies and Capacity Building Dimension
The project aims to enhance the knowledge, experience, and practical capacity of youth workers and civil society stakeholders. In line with one of Erasmus+’s core objectives—organizational and individual capacity building—this is achieved through the trainings, practical activities, and international exchanges of experience planned within the project.
In this way, the project delivers long-term added value not only to the direct participants, but also to professionals and organizations working in the field.
International Cooperation and Sharing of Best Practices
Erasmus+ support encourages the exchange of good practices developed in different countries and their adaptation at the local level. The international visits and partnerships carried out within the project make it possible to examine European-level approaches to combating addiction and to strengthen local practices.
In this respect, the project offers a sustainable learning process that combines local experience with an international perspective.

Sustainability and Widespread Impact
The project has been designed in line with Erasmus+ principles of sustainability and wider impact. The digital training content, guidance materials, and practical outputs developed within the project have been created so that they can continue to be used after the project period ends.
This approach aims to ensure that the project does not remain a short-term initiative, but instead reaches broader audiences and generates lasting impact.
